Biografie
Yue We was born in Tianjin, China. Mr. Wu holds a B.M. in Voice Performance from Tianjin Conservatory of Music and a M.M. degree in Voice Performance from Mannes School of Music, where he studied with Diana Soviero. He has performed a variety of different roles, such as Mandarino in Turandot, Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, and Charlie Soong in the contemporary opera Dr. Sun-Yat Sen. He was the Fellow of the 2022 Renée Fleming’s Song Studio at Carnegie Hall and made his debut at Carnegie Hall. OperaWire commented, “I found Wu’s voice full of honey and containing an august maturity unexpected in a young bass-baritone. He showed dexterity in both selections and his versatility, imbued with solid low notes and a strong middle.” He will attend Music Academy of the West as a Fellow this summer.
