Gerben Budding

Gerben Budding is the principal organist of the Sint Jan Church of Gouda with his historic Moreau-organ from 1736 and organist of the city Gouda in the Netherlands. He also is one of the assistant-organists at Domkerk Utrecht and is cantor of the choir of the Theological University Apeldoorn. From September 2009 to June 2018 he was the principal organist of the Bätz-Witte organ (1853) in Gorinchem. Gerben is in demand as a recitalist both as a soloist and as part of the Ensemble Rood Hout (organ and harpsichord). As a conductor he leads three oratorio choirs, vocal ensemble ‘Piacevole’, the choir of St. Jan Gouda, orchestra ‘Intermezzo’ and symphony orchestra Sjosjanim. Gerben studied organ, improvisation, churchmusic and choralconducting at the Utrecht Conservatory with Reitze Smits, M
