The virtual recording of scene 2 from For Whom the Bell Tolls has won the Silver Award for Visual Effects and the Bronze Award for Music - Original Song at the 24th Annual Peer Awards of the Television, Internet and Video Association of DC. Since 1997, the TIVA-DC Peer Awards celebrate excellence in the Washington DC metropolitan area and offer one of the most sought-after awards in the media community. The awards are merit-based, and judged solely on the individual merits of the entry by industry professionals in the region. This recognition of excellence is a great endorsement for all the artists involved in the short film "Robert Jordan Doesn't Teach English", a scene from a new opera for Ernest Hemingway's novel "For Whom the Bell Tolls". Funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Sister Cities Program, the film is a collaboration between artists in the DC and Brasilia metropolitan areas. Composer Brian Wilbur Grundstrom, Librettist David M. Dorsen, Music Director Jeffrey Sean Dokken and professional opera singers from DC were joined virtually in Brasilia by the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro and Maestro Claudio Cohen, creating an amazing collaboration of talent. This endorsement is a wonderful stamp of approval for all the artists involved, and creates high expectations for the opera's world premiere in Washington planned for September 2022, and hopefully also soon in Brasilia.

Roesner’s Doristo gives not only his splendid resonant voice to the plethora of female sound but its weight. And we welcome it. Round and luxuriant, from opening scene [...] to Finale, [...] Not a drop of unnecessary chastity, even in idea, here.

In any case, the role of Doristo was robustly sung by German bass-baritone Malte Roesner. His deep, dark voice was powerful.
