Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater is the oldest opera house in Ukraine!
Odessa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater is one of the five most beautiful theaters in the world.
 

Forbes has included the Odessa Opera in the list of the most significant monuments of Eastern Europe.
 

The theater was built over three years (from 1884 to 1887) on the site of the First City Theater, which burned down in 1873. The project cost one and a half million gold rubles, the theater building was equipped with the latest technology.
 

This is the first opera house built in Ukraine.
 

Odessa Opera and Ballet Theater plays a significant role in the cultural life of Europe. It is here, for the first time in Ukraine, sounded such famous and popular operas as “The Barber of Seville” by G. Rossini, “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “Love Drink” by G. Donizetti , “Longing” by G. Puccini.
 

The theater’s repertoire includes more than 80 opera, ballet, children’s performances and concert programs. Odessa Opera House is one of the few theaters where organ music concerts take place.

The Oldenburg State Theater employs around 450 people and covers a wide artistic spectrum with its range. In the categories of opera, concert, drama, ballet, young state theatre, Low German drama and category 7, which offers space for interdisciplinary and experimental projects, there are over 30 premieres and over 25 concerts on the program every season. The Oldenburg State Theater has four venues and thus serves a wide catchment area in the north-west. With the help of theater mediation, it is a major goal of the Staatstheater, within the framework of cultural participation and education, to open connecting doors between the audience and productions, between regular visitors and those who are still timid, between inside and outside and also to offer the opportunity ,

Stichting Omroep Muziek (SOM) comprises the Groot Omroepkoor (GOK) and the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (RFO) and, with approximately 230 employees, is the production house for live music for the public broadcaster. In the context of the Live Music task, the SOM produces two large symphonic series for NPO Radio 4 on behalf of and in collaboration with the NTR and AVROTROS: the NTR Saturday Matinee and the AVROTROS Friday Concert. The broadcasting ensembles provide the lion's share of the concerts in these series and also regularly participate in The Sunday Morning Concert. We produce from our own building, the nationally listed Muziekcentrum van de Omroep, which also has permanent and occasional tenants and programs a number of successful concert series. Founded in 2012, New York City-based On Site Opera is the country’s leading presenter of site-specific operas in non- traditional venues. Rooted in collaboration and storytelling, On Site Opera celebrates the connection between artist and audience through highly curated experiences led by exciting opera artists and bold and innovative creative teams. Each On Site Opera production invites New Yorkers to explore  their city in new and unique ways, while cultivating a new generation of opera audiences. To date, OSO has produced 19 operas in as many unique locations to critical acclaim, including the Bronx Zoo, Harlem’s historic Cotton Club, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the American Museum of Natural History, Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Committed to exploring new technology to make opera more accessible, OSO was the first opera company to employ Google Glass supertitles, and the company has currently developed its own mobile  app for multi-language translations and digital program information. 

Following extended COVID-related theater closures in 2020, On Site Opera was recognized as a leading organization in reimagining opera, bringing productions to audiences around the world through the telephone, by mail, and online in inventive and creative productions.

Welcome to Open Air Opera – opera for all generations! We are a new platform for opera lovers across the globe. We present the opera stars of tomorrow!

We will provide open air opera live performances all over the world – concerts as well as full-scale opera productions. 

Open Air Opera's performances can be found on streets and in informal venues, but we will also present major outdoor concerts and performances. You can enjoy the world of opera, while you enjoy your favorite beer, wine or cocktail!

We will put on indoor performances once in a while, too – in bars, pubs, as well as high-profile opera houses.

Livestreams are a huge part of the future in the opera world. Most of our performances will be streamed live on our website: www.openairopera.net
