A MAGYAR NEMZETI FILHARMONIKUS ZENEKAR ÜNNEPI HANGVERSENYE
Oratorio / Orchestral
An important mission of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra is to cultivate relations with Hungarians living abroad. The band is always happy to travel to Transylvania to recall the most beautiful values of our music culture. Next time, on the occasion of our national holiday, the 1848/49 Revolution and the War of Independence, the band's musicians will visit three historical cities to recall some of the gems of 19th and 20th century Hungarian music in front of audiences in Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Mureş and Oradea. The works of Erkel and Liszt, Bartók and Kodály are worthy expressions of the traditions and way of thinking of the Hungarian nation: in their melancholy melodies, tight rhythms and lively emphases there is hope, struggle, failure, and the power to recover. The Festive Overture, the László Hunyadi, the Hungarian Pictures, the II. The Hungarian Rhapsody, the Székely Fonó and the Landed Peacock tell us in many ways about who we are, where we came from, what desires our ancestors carried in their hearts. Not a single non-Hungarian work, Beethoven's Egmont Overture, is included in the program without permission, as the desire for freedom and heroism expressed in the noble work became the symbol of the second great revolution of the Hungarian people, in 1956. The former orchestra of Zoltán Kocsis, the conductor of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, is one of the most outstanding Hungarian conductors on the three evenings. However, the soprano soloist of the concerts, Renáta Gebe-Fügi, represents Transylvania: the native of the treasured city, the artist of the Hungarian Opera in Cluj-Napoca.
