The valiant dressmaker
A busy tailor sits in his cold workshop and sews with all his might. But when a swarm of flies attack his sweet sandwich with jam, he gets angry, strikes - and hits seven in one go! The whole world should know about this heroic deed: The tailor leaves needle and thread and wanders out into the country. After the slight fellow has even convinced a giant of his miraculous powers, he ends up at a royal court. The princess believes that she has found her prince charming and wants to marry him immediately. But before the king and his advisors allow the wedding, the hero, who is actually "only" a tailor, has to face a number of dangerous adventures. How do you bring fairy tale characters like gigantic giants, a wild boar,

The young director and puppet theater maker Kai Anne Schuhmacher designed imaginative puppets for this "little opera based on the Brothers Grimm" and realized them in cooperation with our workshops. Four singers and a puppeteer slip into the roles of the storytellers Grimm and the fairy tale characters and bring them to life. The Austrian composer Wolfgang Mitterer has given the famous fairy tale, which is suitable for children from the age of six, a very unique musical colour: Seductive electronic playback and a double bass accompany the vocal parts.
