The premiere took place on October 29, 1787 in Prague. Don Giovanni was written for Prague on Da Ponte's libretto after the previous success of Figaro's wedding . In the form of the opera "drama giocoso" and the alternation of dramatic, mentally and physically cruel scenes with playful situations, the whole work oscillates between drama and comedy. The central character of Don Giovanni is a self-centered rapist and murderer who bullys his surroundings. The main idea of ​​the work "The will of the individual must be punished" is still relevant. The holder of the Thalia Award, Lukáš Zeman, will play the title role.
