Η μεγάλη επιτυχία του 14ου Διεθνούς Φεστιβάλ Ρόδου (Σεπτέμβριος 2021), και ειδικότερα της συμπαραγωγής με τον πολιτιστικό οργανισμό “Teatro Grattacielo N.Y” για την  όπερα “Ιδομενέας” του W. A. Mozart, η οποία τράβηξε τα φώτα της δημοσιότητας -όχι μόνο της Ελλάδας, αλλά και της Νέας Υόρκης, μας προέτρεψε να επαναλάβουμε την εμπειρία μιας νέας διεθνούς συμπαραγωγής με μια πολύ δημοφιλή όπερα  που ταιριάζει  ιδανικά στο χώρο του παλατιού των Ιπποτών. 
 
Η επίσημη έναρξη του Φεστιβάλ θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 7 και 8 Σεπτεμβρίου με την όπερα “Don Giovanni” του Μότσαρτ, σε  συμπαραγωγή του φεστιβάλ με τον πολιτιστικό οργανισμό  Teatro Grattacielo New York και την Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy N.Y, σε σκηνοθεσία του Ελληνοαμερικανού διακεκριμένου σκηνοθέτη Stefanos Koroneos, καλλιτεχνικού και γενικού διευθυντή του Teatro Grattacielo, με διεθνείς  λυρικούς καλλιτέχνες από όλο τον κόσμο και τη Φιλαρμόνια Ορχήστρα Αθηνών υπό την διεύθυνση του διεθνούς φήμης αρχιμουσικού Άλκη Μπαλτά.
Ο “Don Giovanni” είναι μια από τις δημοφιλέστερες όπερες του Μότσαρτ, ο οποίος την είχε κατατάξει στα έργα του ως όπερα buffa, δηλαδή κωμική όπερα,  η οποία όμως έχει και τραγικά στοιχεία.  Η υπόθεση αφορά τις ερωτικές περιπέτειες του ακόλαστου Ισπανού ευγενούς Ντον Τζοβάνι και τις περιπέτειές του, που τον οδηγούν στην κόλαση. Όταν παρουσιάστηκε για πρώτη φορά το 1787 συγκλόνισε το κοινό και τον κόσμο της τέχνης , επηρεάζοντας βαθειά τις φιλοσοφικές και καλλιτεχνικές αντιλήψεις της εποχής αλλά και των εποχών που θα ακολουθούσαν.

The great success of the 14th International Festival of Rhodes (September 2021), and in particular the co-production with the cultural organization "Teatro Grattacielo N.Y." for the opera "Idomeneus" by W. A. Mozart, which attracted the public attention - not only in Greece, but also in New York, urged us to repeat the experience of a new international co-production with a very popular opera that is ideally suited to the Palace of the Knights.
 
The official opening of the Festival will take place on September 7 and 8 with Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, co-produced by the Festival with the cultural organization Teatro Grattacielo New York and Camerata Bardi Vocal Academy N.Y, directed by the distinguished Greek-American director Stefanos Koroneos, artistic and general director of Teatro Grattacielo, with international lyrical artists from all over the world and the Philharmonia Orchestra of Athens under the direction of the internationally renowned conductor Alkis Baltas.
"Don Giovanni" is one of Mozart's most popular operas, who classified it in his works as an opera buffa, meaning a comic opera, but which also has tragic elements.  The plot concerns the amorous adventures of the licentious Spanish nobleman Don Giovanni and his adventures, which lead him to hell. When it was first presented in 1787 it shocked the public and the art world , deeply influencing the philosophical and artistic perceptions of the time and the ages to follow.
