Edith, the uneducated, ordinary nobody, the ugly little sparrow, with her soulful voice, became the brightest star of Paris, the queen of the chanson. He experienced everything with the same self-destructive passion: success, failure, love, disappointment. Marlene, a classy girl who grew up in a disciplined military family and graduated from a music school, achieved world fame with her cool professionalism. She charmed everyone with her beauty and elegance, quickly changed her partners, and did not hide her cynicism about love and romance. 
The light is on Marlene, Piaf is in the shadows. What could have connected these two worlds, these two so different women for a lifetime? Both could be jealous of the other for a reason, but they fought not with each other, but rather with themselves.

Edith, a tanulatlan, közönséges senki, a csúnya kis veréb a lelkéből szóló hangjával Párizs legfénylőbb csillagává, a sanzon királynőjévé vált. Ugyanazzal az önpusztító szenvedéllyel élt meg mindent: sikert, sikertelenséget, szerelmet, csalódást. Marlene a fegyelmezett katonacsaládban felnövő, zeneiskolát végzett előkelő lány hűvös profizmussal érte el a világhírnevet. Szépségével és eleganciájával mindenkit elbűvölt, gyorsan váltogatta partnereit, a szerelemmel és romantikával kapcsolatos cinizmusát nem titkolta. 
A fény Marlenén, Piaf áll az árnyékban. Mi lehetett az, ami ezt a két világot, ezt a két ennyire különböző nőt egy életen át összekötötte? Mindketten okkal irigyelhették a másikat, mégsem egymással, sokkal inkább önmagukkal harcoltak.
