Love - It is like a lens through which we look at the world and perceive other people. It creates images and longings within us. But the moment we think we can see clearly, it raises new questions. 

Singer  Ilja Aksionov  and pianist  Gustas Raudonius , both students at the university and winners of the university's Rometsch Competition for Chamber Music 2021, present a song  recital that  traces the lover's longing gaze at the beloved in the distance in works by Beethoven, Schumann, Liszt  and  Brahms , among others . The love-drunk gaze remains blurred at first, as if shrouded in fog and colored by the lover's feelings. Only gradually does a concrete picture of the beloved develop. 

The song duo impressively shows the musical richness of the romantic art song, framed by rarely heard late-romantic works from the early 20th century, including works by  Finzi  and  Howells . An actor recites the texts of the works, giving the audience a deep insight into the songs and rounding off the concert experience.
