Gianni Schicchi is a real bestseller, full of vibrant life and a fantastic sense of humor. This small work is very popular in the world.

It is believed that such an incident actually occurred in Florence in 1299. He was described by Dante in his "Divine Comedy" - he must have personally known the cheerful swindler Schicchi, since he placed him in the eighth circle of Hell among all kinds of forgers. A large greedy family covets the inheritance of a wealthy relative, but is left with nothing - after all, the rogue Gianni Schicchi intervenes in the action, and the plot is rapidly twisting, not allowing the characters or the public to breathe. And the composer presented his daughter Gianni Lauretta with an aria that became a world hit and sounds far beyond the opera stage.

 

"Sister Angelica" is a special opera: it was written exclusively for female voices. This gives rise to its infinitely gentle sound and piercing emotionality. In the center of the opera is the figure of a young woman who gave birth to a child out of wedlock and was forced to leave for a monastery, so Puccini held the first public performance of the work in a narrow circle of nuns in the monastery where his sister lived. The listeners were so moved that they could not hold back their tears; they were unanimous in their opinion that the heroine of the opera who had sinned deserved forgiveness. Opera acts on the public in exactly the same way today.

In 2021, Sister Anzhelika was included in the Long List of the Golden Mask Award “for theatrical culture, the work of soloists and the choir”, and the theater choir received a special jury prize of the Onega Mask Republican Theater Award for acting in this performance.

Как полагают, такой случай действительно произошел во Флоренции в 1299 году. Его описал Данте в своей «Божественной комедии» – должно быть, он лично знал веселого мошенника Скикки, раз поместил его в восьмом круге Ада среди всевозможных поддельщиков. Многочисленное алчное семейство вожделеет наследство богатого родственника, но остается ни с чем – ведь в действие вмешивается пройдоха Джанни Скикки, и сюжет стремительно закручивается, не давая вздохнуть ни персонажам, ни публике. А дочери Джанни Лауретте композитор подарил арию, ставшую мировым хитом и звучащую далеко за пределами оперной сцены.

 

«Сестра Анжелика» – особенная опера: она написана исключительно для женских голосов. Это рождает ее бесконечно нежное звучание и пронзительную эмоциональность. В центре оперы – фигура молодой женщины, родившей ребенка вне брака и вынужденной уйти в монастырь, поэтому Пуччини первый публичный показ сочинения провел в узком кругу сестер-монахинь в монастыре, где жила его сестра. Слушательницы были так растроганы, что не смогли удержать слез; они были единодушны во мнении, что согрешившая героиня оперы заслуживает прощения. Сегодня опера действует на публику точно так же.

В 2021 году «Сестра Анжелика» вошла в Лонг-лист премии «Золотая Маска» «за театральную культуру, работу солистов и хора», а хор театра получил специальный приз жюри Республиканской театральной премии «Онежская маска» за актерскую работу в этом спектакле.
