Loneliness has many faces that live door to door. The opera 'HJEM' takes the being of loneliness by the hand to slowly and lovingly lead it further into the light towards a community. Look forward to a surprising, genre-breaking and deeply humanist opera experience during the premiere in Porten, the former Vridsløselille State Prison.
Here, the walls and the long corridors are full of tales of longing and desperation. HJEM occupies the abandoned building with the beautiful, dissonant sound of a solitary cello, in a meeting with both intimately personal and primal powerful singing voices. In a prison tour, the audience gets the opportunity to feel the pain of loneliness and the power of community, when 40 extras in a giant Choir of Loneliness lead the audience through the empty corridors. Each performance is rounded off with communal dining in an atmospheric late summer setting.


'HJEM' creates a vibrating, compassionate experience of loneliness when poet Stine Rejnholdt's poetic libretto gives voice to real people's fragmented and hidden narratives. The award-winning composer and cellist Josefine Opsahl has composed 'HJEM' for the prison, which will be directed by the renowned director Nullo Facchini.


In the 160-year-old state prison, this strong artistic team invites the audience completely into loneliness, while the meeting in the music instills hope for a way out of it.

Ensomheden har mange ansigter, der lever dør om dør. Operaen ‘HJEM’ tager ensomhedens væsen i hånden for langsomt og kærligt at føre det længere ud i lyset mod et fællesskab. Glæd dig til en overrumplende, genrebrydende og dybt humanistisk operaoplevelse under urpremieren i Porten, det tidligere Vridsløselille Statsfængsel.
Her er væggene og de lange gange fulde af fortællinger om savn og desperation. HJEM indtager den forladte bygning med en ensom cellos smukke, dissonante klange, i et møde med både intimt personlige og urkraftfulde sangstemmer. I en fængselsvandring får publikum mulighed for at mærke ensomhedens smerte og fællesskabets kraft, når 40 statister i et kæmpe Ensomhedens Kor fører publikum gennem de tomme gange. Hver forestilling afrundes med fællesspisning i stemningsfyldte sensommerrammer.


‘HJEM’ skaber en vibrerende, medfølende oplevelse af ensomhed, når digter Stine Rejnholdts poetiske libretto giver stemme til virkelige menneskers fragmenterede og skjulte fortællinger. Den prisvindende komponist og cellist Josefine Opsahl har komponeret ‘HJEM’ til fængslet, som bliver instrueret af den anerkendte instruktør Nullo Facchini.


I det 160 år gamle statsfængsel inviterer dette stærke kunstneriske hold publikum helt ind i ensomheden, samtidig med at mødet i musikken indgyder håb for en vej ud af den.
