这部歌剧此前从未在中国上演，事实上海顿的歌剧此前在国内上演机会寥寥。而在最近的半个世纪里，海顿的歌剧越来越多地出 现在了世界各地的舞台上，人们早已发现这位交响曲之父、弦乐四重奏之父，其实在歌剧创作方面同样功力深厚。《月亮的世界》 虽诞生于 1777 年，却是一部如假包换的科幻题材歌剧，海顿以及意大利剧作哥尔多尼联手打造了一个臆想中的月上人间。如今随着科幻文学、科幻影视越来越多地走入普通人的视野，并且随着航天技术的快速发展，人们已经看到了遨游太空的梦想将要实现的曙光，海顿的科幻歌剧因此将极具吸引力。延续北京国际音乐节对歌剧剧目的探索与拓展，这一版本的《月亮的世界》通过早期古典主义风格歌剧与现代舞台艺术的结合，为观众提供了领略歌剧艺术的全新视角。本次登台的歌唱阵容集结了众多活跃在世界舞台的中国青年歌唱家，在易立明导演的全新诠释下，俞极指挥中央音乐学院研究生乐团，一批对巴洛克 / 古典主义歌剧充满浓厚兴趣的中国青年歌唱家们集结在北京，共同呈现属于中国人的宇宙浪漫。
北京国际音乐节在不同城市空间打造歌剧作为新锐单元推出的数部作品近年来成为新歌剧文化的一道风景线。如今坐落在长安街北侧、有着百年历史的大华电影院涅槃重生，新的大华城市表演艺术中心成为了拥有包括歌剧厅在内的十余个剧场与排练厅的综合性艺术空间及全新艺术策划机构，成为了北京表演艺术版图上新的一环。北京国际音乐节进入第二个四分之一世纪之际，将与大华城市表演艺术中心歌剧院一起，联合出品并上演大华城市表演艺术中心艺术总监易立明执导的海顿歌剧《月亮的世界》， 让更多的观众走进全新的城市歌剧文化体验。

This performance marks a Chinese premiere, but in fact, very few of Haydn’s operas have ever graced the country’s stages. In the past 50 years, Haydn’s operas have increasingly appeared around the world, gradually revealing that the “father of symphonies and string quartets” was also an accomplished opera composer. Although Il mondo della luna was created in 1777, it is veritable science fiction based on Goldoni’s play imagining life on the moon. Today, sci-fi appears not only in print but also in moving images capturing the public imagination. With advances in aeronautics, the world sees a beam of light for space travel, making Haydn’s opera all the more fascinating. Following the BMF’s commitment in exploring and developing operatic repertoire, this production of Il mondo della luna combines classical musical styles with modern theater, providing the audience with new perspectives in appreciating opera. The cast includes many young Chinese singers now active on the world’s operatic stage. They work with director Liming Yi and conductor Yu Ji leading the Central Conservatory of Music Graduate Students’ Orchestra, along with young Beijing-based singers interested in early opera, engendering a unique Chinese take on romance in space.
The BMF has recently produced opera productions in different venues around the city heralding a New Wave in operatic culture. Last June, the century-old Dahua Cinema north of Chang’an Avenue was revitalized, and the new Dahua City Center for the Performing Arts, a brand-new arts organization with a dozen theaters in various sizes along with rehearsal spaces, opened to become a new venue on Beijing’s performing arts map. On the occasion of the BMF’s 25th anniversary, the Dahua City Center for the Performing Arts co-produces Haydn’s Il mondo della luna with the BMF, offering opera on an urban landscape for the wider audience.
