For Kirill Petrenko it is an affair of the heart to bring Josef Suk's music to a larger audience. Now he is presenting the symphonic poem Lebensreife , which combines late-Romantic splendor of sound with modern harmony. Programmatically, Suk represents the emotional multifacetedness of life, its joys and sorrows. An early patron of Suk was Johannes Brahms. The Second Piano Concerto can be heard from him, in which harsh force and the most tender feeling collide. With András Schiff, the soloist is a long-standing partner of the Berlin Philharmonic.
