Generation Z is wild, happy and hungry for life. It moves between sensual intoxication and heartbreak, not unlike the group of young people – called La Bohème – to whose life and loved ones Giacomo Puccini dedicated his world-famous music almost 130 years ago. The opera hit is now freshly interpreted in the Opernloft.

A new club is opened. There's swing music - that's the cool trend right now. Rodolfo and Marcella want to be the first. Meet friends, dance the night away, have fun - that's her motto. Perfectly styled, they are waiting in front of the entrance to the “Momus” club. There they meet Mimi. And: A star has announced itself - the influencer Musetta.

The Opernloft shows four young people going about their days more or less carefree. They don't write novels and don't paint pictures - like Puccini's characters of the 19th century. They are their own art. And they like to show it. But what happens to these "carefree" when bitter life breaks into their world?

The new bohemians are brought to the stage by Susann Oberacker (director), Amy Brinkman-Davis (musical direction) and Claudia Weinhart (design). In this production, the audience sits very close to the action. And if you like, you can dance in the “Momus” club during the break.

Wild, fröhlich und lebenshungrig ist sie, die Generation Z. Zwischen Sinnesrausch und Herzensbruch bewegt sie sich, nicht unähnlich der Gruppe junger Menschen – La Bohème genannt – deren Leben und Lieben Giacomo Puccini vor knapp 130 Jahren seine weltberühmte Musik widmete. Der Opernhit kommt jetzt frisch interpretiert ins Opernloft.

Ein neuer Club wird eröffnet. Es gibt Swing-Musik - das ist gerade der coole Trend. Rodolfo und Marcella wollen die Ersten sein. Freunde treffen, die ganze Nacht durchtanzen, Spaß haben - das ist ihr Motto. Perfekt gestylt warten sie vor dem Eingang zum Club “Momus”. Dort lernen sie Mimi kennen. Und: Ein Star hat sich angesagt - die Influencerin Musetta.

Das Opernloft zeigt vier junge Menschen, die mehr oder weniger unbekümmert ihre Tage durchstreifen. Sie schreiben keine Romane und malen keine Bilder – wie Puccinis Figuren des 19. Jahrhunderts. Ihre Kunst sind sie selbst. Und die zeigen sie gern. Doch was geschieht mit diesen “Sorglosen”, wenn das bittere Leben in ihre Welt hereinbricht?

Die neuen Bohemiens werden von Susann Oberacker (Regie), Amy Brinkman-Davis (Musikalische Leitung) und Claudia Weinhart (Ausstattung) auf die Bühne gebracht. Das Publikum sitzt in dieser Inszenierung ganz dicht am Geschehen. Und wer mag, kann in der Pause im Club “Momus” sein Tanzbein schwingen.
