A turbulent piece about the sex drive, dominating gestures, disappointed feelings and all the things that result from this.


Count Almaviva has it in for Susanna, the fiancé of Figaro, his valet and confidante, which the two in turn, with the help of their mistress, Countess Almaviva, ultimately manage to prevent. Before this supposed happy ending, however, there are still various entanglements, from the hormone-controlled teenager Cherubino to the old Marcellina, in love with Figaro, who then realizes that with her it is only a matter of motherly love; there are also found children and travesty. Just a great day.


The highly sensitive Mozart found a congenial partner as an opera composer in the brilliant librettist Lorenzo da Ponte. Together they succeed in inventing works for the music stage with ›Figaro‹, ›Don Giovanni‹ and ›Cosí fan tutte‹, which create hitherto unknown arcs of tension between the finely honed psychology of the protagonists and turbulently entertaining scenes. Highly successful from the start, the pieces have lost none of their freshness.
