Class struggle and war of the sexes. ​ You must first listen to the music of Mozart: the opening of his opera carried on at a breakneck pace, is jerky just enough, daring to murmur and sudden outbursts, panting certainly but tinged with melancholy. Everything is said from the first minutes. At the twilight of an 18th century marked by the spirit of the Enlightenment, a society in love with change and freedom was living its last fires. But with this freedom, what were our heroes going to do? So many heartbeats, disillusionment and dashed hopes! Of course, history was on the move and social injustice denounced, but love relationships, deep feelings and this unhealthy jealousy, would they change for all that? Women would continue to play with men's hearts so as not to give in to despair in the face of such lightness and men would try to save face by showing how nobility of heart ignores social rank. From Beaumarchais to Mozart, this masterpiece of comedy - feverish, vivacious and sensual - has gained in lightness and tone, as if transfigured. We will place this production at the time of its creation, and will try to stage love in all its forms, the man-woman fights whether one is a master or a valet.
