You don’t want to miss a truly inspiring event when the young talent from the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony play side by side with the great musicians of YOUR Grand Rapids Symphony! The program will also feature pianist Martina Filjak performing one of the most exciting showpieces for piano, Liszt’s First Piano Concerto. The evening will close with an orchestral tour de force in Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra. You’ll hear the unique and exotic sounds of Hungarian folk tunes, paired with elaborate and driving rhythms that give the work (and the audience) a sense of energy and excitement throughout.
