Again, Buenos Aires Lírica gave us a show of excellence with aesthetic coherence and artistic solidity in a repertoire rarely frequented in the Argentina. The leading couple, led by the soprano Patricia González
(Poppea) and the Chilean mezzo-soprano Evelyn Ramírez (Nerone), turned out to be solvent and well amalgamated.
With a well-pitched voice and histrionic authority, Marcos Fink composed a Seneca with noble accents. Excellent soprano Soledad de la Rosa, who adapted her singing line to the baroque emission and achieved moments of beauty and subtlety worthy of the highest praise both as Virtú in the prologue and in her characterization of Drusilla in the rest of the opera .
With an expansive song, perhaps at some point a little removed from the baroque conception, mezzo Eugenia Fuente personified a credible and heartbreaking Ottavia. With a coupled emission and moving accents, the countertenor Martín Oro composed the spiteful Ottone. Of the secondary roles, all well served and with homogeneous performance, the work of Vanesa Mautner and José Lemos cannot fail to stand out.
