Those who travel Europe via TV will hear this music before Eurovision live broadcasts: since 1954, the Prelude to Charpentier’s famous Te Deum has served as the Eurovision fanfare. Jordi Savall, a true European from Barcelona, brings together musicians from all over Europe to perform the famous work in Stainz parish church. In his Magnificat, Bach recalls a journey of great significance undertaken by the Blessed Virgin: “The Visitation of Mary”. When Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth, who was also pregnant, she sang praises to the Lord.
