Human and snake body? Man or woman? Human, animal or monster? Pretty or ugly? In her "hybrid monster opera" MELUSINE. What are you doing on Saturday? Catalina Rueda and Lisa Pottstock mix up all categories of attribution, the medieval legendary figure of Melusine meets Billie Eilish, Renaissance melodies meet the latest sounds and three female singers counteract the foreign attributions, judgments and projections with the joy of transformation and the ambiguity of identities. In six autonomous, associative images, a highly topical prism is created in which the three singers unite to form three facets of the Melusine figure, only to soon slip into a new (snake) skin. MELUSINE. What are you doing on Saturday? is the award-winning work of the newly announced Reinhold Otto Mayer Prize , which JOiN is the first cooperating institution to bring to the stage.

Menschen- und Schlangenleib? Mann oder Frau? Mensch, Tier oder Monster? Schön oder hässlich? In ihrer „hybriden Monsteroper“ MELUSINE. Was machst du am Samstag? wirbeln Catalina Rueda und Lisa Pottstock alle Kategorien der Zuschreibung durcheinander, trifft die mittelalterliche Sagengestalt der Melusine auf Billie Eilish, Renaissance-Melodien auf neueste Klänge und setzen drei Sängerinnen den Fremdzuschreibungen, Urteilen und Projektionen die Lust an der Verwandlung und der Mehrdeutigkeit von Identitäten entgegen. In sechs autonomen, assoziativen Bildern entsteht so ein hochaktuelles Prisma, in dem die drei Sängerinnen sich einmal zu drei Facetten der Melusinengestalt vereinen, um bald darauf in eine neue (Schlangen-)Haut zu schlüpfen. MELUSINE. Was machst du am Samstag? ist das preisgekrönte Gewinnerwerk des neu ausgelobten Reinhold Otto Mayer Preises, das das JOiN als erste kooperierende Institution auf die Bühne bringt.
