BACH DANCED The evening offers a new experience and an extraordinary experience with three sonatas for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach. The violinist Midori Seiler and the dancers Juan Kruz Díaz and Martí Corbera enter into a trialogue together to the music and form a musical-dance trypticon in which music and physicality merge in ever-new constellations. Each of the three sonatas is examined from the perspective of one of the three performers and the audience is invited to take on the respective perspectives and thus experience the compositions. The result is a deeply moving evening that allows Bach to be experienced physically and psychologically in a new way. The baroque violinist Midori Seiler has been captivating her audience for decades with a unique, magical mixture of crystalline clarity in capturing the music, touchingly emotional sound and her intuitive and wide-awake “sleepwalking trance” at the moment of the concert. Since her breakthrough in the Berlin Radialsystem with a staged performance of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons", she has also become internationally known as an artist who also likes to place Bach's music in a visual, performative, experimental context. Dancer and choreographer Juan Kruz Díaz was born in Legazpi, Spain. For a long time he was seen in the productions of the Berlin choreographer Sasha Waltz and was a choreographic assistant in the company “Sasha Waltz and guests”. Before his dancing career, he was trained as a singer. His diverse, internationally acclaimed projects testify to his passionate devotion to music. As a teacher, he travels all over the world for master classes and as a guest lecturer. The young Spanish dancer Martí Corbera, born in Barcelona in 1997, has his roots in flamenco and contemporary dance. His magnetic aura and charisma have helped him win numerous scholarships and stays abroad with important companies. He has been working regularly with Juan Kruz Diaz for several years. A production of the Köthen Bach Festival.
