Piotr Beczała is a celebrated star of the open stages. His previous and future agenda reads like the who's who of the world of classical music: appearances have taken him to La Scala in Milan, the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Vienna State Opera and the Met, where he made his debut in 2006 as Duca in Verdi's »Rigoletto« and returned for the portrayal of Lenski in Tchaikovsky's »Eugene Onegin«. He was also successful at the Bayreuth and Salzburg Festivals, where he demonstrated his Wagner skills as Lohengrin. The tenor shows a completely different side of himself during his performance in the Vienna Konzerthaus, where he explores the many nuances of romantic composition in the music of Tchaikovsky, Schumann and Grieg in a song recital with Helmut Deutsch.
