In the concert program Sapnī ( Im Traum ), soprano Gunta Gelgote, baritone Rihards Millers and pianist Mārtiņš Zilberts invite the audience to enjoy romantic chamber music pearls. The moody, colorful program will show the flow of the melodic lines of the romantic period, while marking the appearance of the modernist tendencies in the music of that time and revealing a natural transition of the musical language to expressionist means of expression.
In the first part of the concert, the vocal chamber music of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdi and the solo songs and duets of the Austrian composer Franz Schubert will be performed. In the second part of the program created by the artists, you will hear Arabesques for piano from the works of the German composer Robert Šūmanis interpreted by the pianist Mārtiņš Zilbert. The concert will also include the cycle Bunte Lieder by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski , Gustav Mahler's four-song cycle Songs of the Wandering Apprentice ( Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen ), and the program will conclude with two more opuses by F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdi.
