What do you get if you mix the ‘high-powered,’ ‘fiery,’ ‘shimmering’ pianist, Alim Beisembayev (who won Leeds Piano competition aged just 23), with the 25-year-old conductor Tom Fetherstonehaugh, flagged by the BBC as a ‘spark to watch’?  Emotional fireworks!

In this opening night like no other, the Kazakstan-born Alim will perform with Fantasia Orchestra, founded by Tom in 2016. Consisting of the country’s most exciting young musicians, this orchestra is trailing an energetic blaze through the UK’s arts scene.

With a programme including Tchaikovsky’s heartfelt Serenade for Strings, and Chopin’s 1st Piano Concerto, this is a night that promises to breathe new life into old works, for a truly unforgettable opening night.
