RO NOW adds lustre to your weekend! Treat yourself to musical masterpieces that are guaranteed to delight your ears. The conductor will first briefly introduce the music, illustrated with examples by the orchestra, to enhance your experience. This poetic and versatile edition of RO NOW features Skriabin's Rêverie, Sibelius's iconic Fifth Symphony and the world premiere of Jan-Peter de Graaff's Concerto Metropolitain.

The evening will begin with a musical interpretation of a dream. In Reverie, Skriabin lets the orchestra sing, whisper and shine in mesmerising harmony. Next up is De Graaff's world premiere, Concerto Metropolitan. As a composer, De Graaff brings a powerful physicality to his music. In this composition, the young, dynamic saxophone quartet from Amsterdam creates a dazzling soundscape with the orchestra. Finally, you'll hear a spectacular masterpiece from Sibelius's symphonic repertoire: the Fifth Symphony, an ode to life and beauty after adversity.

RO NOW geeft glans aan je weekend. Trakteer jezelf op muzikale topwerken die je oren doen spitsen. Met vooraf een verhelderende intro van de dirigent, geïllustreerd door het orkest met enkele voorbeelden. Zo voel en beleef je meer tijdens het luisteren. Tijdens deze editie serveren we poëtische veelzijdigheid met Skrjabins Rêverie, Sibelius’ iconische Vijfde symfonie en de wereldpremière van Jan-Peter de Graaffs Concerto Metropolitain.

De avond opent met een muzikale vertaling van een droom: in Reverie laat Skrjabin het orkest op de meest ontroerende manier zingen, fluisteren en glinsteren. Dan is het de beurt aan de wereldpremière van De Graaff: Concerto Metropolitan. De Graaff brengt als componist een enorm fysieke beleving in zijn muziek. In deze compositie bouwt het jonge, dynamische Amsterdamse saxofoonkwartet samen met het orkest een sprankelende klankwereld. Tot slot hoor je een spectaculair topwerk uit Sibelius’ symfonische repertoire: de Vijfde symfonie. Een ode aan het leven en de schoonheid na tegenslag.
