"The Baltic countries never cease to amaze us!" - this is how the young generation conductor Giedrė Šlekytė is presented in foreign countries, 2016-2017. was the first Kapellmeister of the Klagenfurt City Theater Orchestra for a season. Music critics note "accuracy and youthful elegance", "dreaminess and gently pulsating energy" in this conductor's interpretations. So this year, Giedrė Šlekytė is also making her debut on the stage of the Vilnius Festival, bringing together a special circle of artists returning to Lithuania - these are the pianist Andrius Žlabys and singers Lina Dambrauskaitė (soprano), Justina Gringytė (mezzo-soprano) and Raimundas Juzuitis ( bass-baritone), as well as Tomas Pavilionis (tenor), who is creating in Lithuania.

2007 will be played at the concert. The oratorio "Songs of the Sun and Dawn" created by the composer Raminta Šerkšnytė on the order of the "Vilnius Festival" will be supported by the choir of the Vilnius City Municipality "Jauna muzika" (director Vaclovas Augustinas). Also in the evening program is an intriguing introduction to the world-famous Finnish conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen's new role as a composer. We will hear this artist's 2007. created a three-part Concerto for piano and orchestra.

„Baltijos šalys nepaliauja mūsų stebinti!“ – taip užsienio šalyse pristatoma jaunosios kartos dirigentė Giedrė Šlekytė, 2016–2017 m. sezoną buvusi Klagenfurto miesto teatro orkestro pirmąja kapelmeistere. Muzikos kritikai šios dirigentės interpretacijose pažymi „tikslumą ir jaunatvišką eleganciją“, „svajingumą ir švelniai pulsuojančią energiją“. Tad šiemet Giedrė Šlekytė debiutuoja ir Vilniaus festivalio scenoje, kartu sutelkdama ypatingą į Lietuvą sugrįžtančių menininkų ratą – tai JAV, Didžiojoje Britanijoje ir Austrijoje šiuo metu reziduojantys atlikėjai pianistas Andrius Žlabys bei dainininkai Lina Dambrauskaitė (sopranas), Justina Gringytė (mecosopranas) ir Raimundas Juzuitis (bosas-baritonas), taip pat Lietuvoje kuriantis Tomas Pavilionis (tenoras).

Koncerte skambės 2007 m. „Vilniaus festivalio“ užsakymu kompozitorės Ramintos Šerkšnytės sukurta oratorija „Saulėlydžio ir aušros giesmės“, ją atliekant talkins Vilniaus miesto savivaldybės choras „Jauna muzika“ (vadovas Vaclovas Augustinas). Taip pat vakaro programoje – intriguojanti pažintis su visame pasaulyje garsaus suomių dirigento Esa-Pekkos Saloneno nauju – kompozitoriaus amplua. Girdėsime šio menininko 2007 m. sukurtą trijų dalių Koncertą fortepijonui ir orkestrui.
