Clara Schumann's Three Romances are filled with idyll and melancholy, warmth and glow. Originally written for violin and piano, they are dedicated to violinist legend Joseph Joachim, with whom Clara often accompanied. César Franck's sonatas were also originally written for violin and piano. It quickly became popular and was arranged for a variety of instruments, but the only version approved by Franck himself was the arrangement for cello and piano. Josep Castanyer Alonso has been a member of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's cello part since 2019. He often participates in various chamber music ensembles both in Sweden and in international projects. Josep was the first student from the Royal Philharmonic's own Orchestra Academy to also take a place in the orchestra. He plays together with Magnus Svensson, who is the artistic director of Konserthuset's novel series. He also gives concerts in the Nordics and the rest of Europe and has also appeared in Russia and the USA. Since 2012, he has also been working at the Royal Academy of Music with reissues of older Swedish music.
