Spirit of the Wild by Haydn, Westlake, Adams, J. L., Ds. 14 Set. 2024, De (2024/2024), Director musical Umberto Clerici, QPAC, Brisbane, Australia

In association with Brisbane Festival, we present a concert as powerful and fierce as nature itself! Experience epic masterpieces including Haydn’s The Depiction of Chaos from The Creation which QSO will bring to life with chromatic harmonies mimicking Earth being formed itself. Australian oboe royalty, Diana Doherty, will join us to perform the titular Spirit of the Wild by Nigel Westlake, a piece that is as untamed and dynamic as its namesake. And lastly, QSO will perform a Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award-winning wonder by John Luther Adams, Become Ocean. Joined on stage by 25+ Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University students, this 100-strong orchestral piece will evoke a profound connection to the natural world, through a purposeful immersion of senses - dissolving the boundaries between sound, self, and the infinite.
