Chicago, 1931. Die Band „Sweet Sue and the Society Syncopaters“ hat ihren letzten Abend in der Stadt, bevor es mit dem Nachtzug nach Miami Beach geht. Manager Bienstock muss vor der Abreise noch zügig die Positionen Bass und Saxophon neu besetzen – da scheint es fast wie eine glückliche Fügung, dass der Kontrabassist Jerry und der Saxophonist Joe, finanziell völlig abgebrannt, händeringend ein Engagement suchen. Das einzige Problem: Die „Society Syncopaters“ sind eine reine Frauenband.

Bienstock bietet ihnen einen anderen Job an, sie können die Noten zum Bahnhof transportieren. Mangels einer Alternative, Geld zu verdienen, willigen sie ein. Dazu müssen sie ein Auto aus der Clark Street Garage holen, wo sie unwillentlich Zeugen eines Bandenmordes werden. Um sich vor der Mafia in Sicherheit zu bringen, müssen sie die Stadt verlassen. Ein Anruf bei Bienstock genügt und sie fahren mit dem Dixie Flyer und der Band nach Florida – als Josephine und Daphne. Sie freunden sich mit der bildschönen Leadsängerin Sugar, die sich in Miami einen Millionär angeln will, an und es kommt zu höchst amüsanten und spannenden Verwirrungen. Denn während Joe Gefallen an Sugar findet und sich als Millionär verkleidet, wird Daphne alias Jerry von einem richtigen Millionär der Hof gemacht – und dann tauchen auch noch die Gangster im Hotel auf …

Das Musical basiert auf dem legendären, vielfach prämierten Filmklassiker „Some Like it Hot“ von Billy Wilder mit Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon und Tony Curtis aus dem Jahr 1959, dessen einzigartig herzliche und heitere Stimmung es mit aufregender, jazziger Musik von Jule Styne und Bob Meryll, dem Komponistenteam von „Funny Girl“, einfängt. Ein Musical mit großartiger Musik, mitreißenden Tanzszenen und einem bestens besetzten Ensemble! Ralph Morgenstern, der als Moderator beim TV-Sender Vox bekannt wurde, ist mit Abstand am präsentesten an diesem Abend.

Chicago, 1931. The band “Sweet Sue and the Society Syncopaters” has their last evening in the city before taking the night train to Miami Beach. Manager Bienstock has to quickly fill the bass and saxophone positions before leaving - so it almost seems like a happy coincidence that the double bass player Jerry and the saxophonist Joe, who have completely burned out financially, are desperately looking for a job. The only problem: The “Society Syncopaters” are an all-female band.

Bienstock offers them another job; they can transport the notes to the train station. In the absence of an alternative way to make money, they agree. To do this, they have to get a car from the Clark Street Garage, where they unwillingly witness a gang murder. In order to find safety from the mafia, they have to leave the city. All it takes is a call to Bienstock and they drive to Florida with the Dixie Flyer and the band - as Josephine and Daphne. They become friends with the beautiful lead singer Sugar, who wants to make herself a millionaire in Miami, and very amusing and exciting confusion ensues. Because while Joe takes a liking to Sugar and disguises himself as a millionaire, Daphne, alias Jerry, is courted by a real millionaire - and then the gangsters show up at the hotel...

The musical is based on the legendary, award-winning 1959 film “Some Like it Hot” by Billy Wilder starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, whose uniquely warm and cheerful atmosphere is combined with exciting, jazzy music by Jule Styne and Bob Meryll, the composer team behind “Funny Girl”. A musical with great music, rousing dance scenes and a top-class ensemble! Ralph Morgenstern, who became known as a presenter on the TV station Vox, is by far the most present this evening.
