Bio: Soprano Agata Wilewska was born in Gdansk, Poland. She studied in Cologne, Vienna and Hannover, where she graduated in Christiane Iven's vocal class's in 2005. Since her completion of her studies in Vienna she has worked regulary with Helena Lazarska. Her training has been complemented with Masterclasses from Sylvia Geszty, Montserrat Caballé and Aribert Reimann.As a young soprano, she made her debut singing Konstanze in Mozart's "Abduction of the Serail" and the Queen of the Night in Mozart's "Magic flute".Concert performances are also an important part of this young soprano's career. Concert tours have taken her to Poland, Ireland, Spain and Japan, where she performed with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra Chorus. In 2004 she sang the sopran solo in Luigi Nono's "Il canto sospeso" in Hannover (Germany).Agata Wilewska has been a member of the ensemble at the Basel Theater since August 2006 till August 2016. During this time she appeard as Königin der Nacht in Mozart's "Zauberflöte", Norina in Donizetti's "Don Pasquale", Oscar in Verdi's "Un Ballo in Maschera", the Heavenly Voice in Verdi's "Don Carlos" and the Virgin in Honegger's "Jeanne d'Arc au bûcher", Blonde in Mozart's "Abduction of the Serail", Dalinda in Händel's "Ariodante", Karin in the German language debut of Barry's "The bitter tears of Petra von Kant", Musetta in Puccini's "La Bohème" and Soeur Constance in Poulenc's "Les Dialogues des Carmélites", Diana in Cavalli's "La Calisto"among others.Agata Wilewska appeared as Wanda in Offenbach's "La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein" at the Theater an der Wien, as Mme Herz in Mozart's "Schauspieldirektor" at the Theater St.Gallen under the baton of Andreas Spering, as Blumenmädchen in Wagner's "Parsifal" at the Staatsoper Stuttgart under the baton of Manfred Honeck and Königin der Nacht in Mozart's "Zauberflöte" at the Oper Halle and Staatstheater Karlsruhe.In Basel Agata Wilewska has collaborated with conductors such as Hervé Niquet, Andrea Marcon, Attilio Cremonesi, Gabriel Feltz, André de Ridder, Cornelius Meister, Armin Jordan and Maurizio Barbacinci. Her Directors during this period have been Calixto Bieito, Philipp Stölzl, David Hermann, Peter Konwitschny, Jan Bosse, Benedikt Von Peter, Christopher Alden, Richard Jones and last but not least Christoph Marthaler.Agata Wilewska has been singing  recitals in Japan, Ireland, Poland, France and Switzerland.
