Bio: Bettina Maria Bauer has been a member of the ensemble at the Saarländisches Staatstheater since the 2019/2020 season. Her engagements at the theater include Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe), Amirah (Die arabische Prinzessin), Thibault (Don Carlos) and Ottilie Giesecke (Im weißen Rössl). In the 2021/2022 season she will be heard as Najade in Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos", Oberto in "Alcina" by Handel and as Frasquita in Bizet's "Carmen", among others. Guest engagements have already taken Bettina Maria Bauer to the Konzerthaus Berlin and to the Ettlingen Scholssfestspiele, where she performed the role of the Mouse in Ivan Fischer's children's opera, “Der Grüffelo” and made her role debut as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte", respectively. During the 2018/2019 season, Bettina was engaged at the Mainfrankentheater Würzburg. Prior to her studies, Bettina Maria Bauer sang in serveral productions with the Landestheater Niederbayern, including the role of Barbarina in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro". Bettina Maria Bauer began her studies at the University of Music in Würzburg in 2012 and continued her education with a Master of Music and Performance. She graduated in 2021 with distinction. In addition to her studies at the university, Bettina participated in master classes with Juliane Banse, Camilla Nylund and Klesie Kelly-Moog, among others. She has studied with Daniela Sindram, Cheryl Studer, and Julie Kaufmann. She is currently working with KS Jochen Kupfer and Franco Farina. The soprano was awarded, among other things, the 1st prize in the competition for the prize for opera singing from the Concerto Stiftung Augsburg and a prize from the Bremen Belcanto Preis. She was a multiple finalist in the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang competition. In addition to her operatic experience, Bettina is also active as a Lied and concert singer, collaborating with pianists such as Gerold Huber and Alexander Fleischer, among others. In the song she also received influences from Irwin Gage. She has been heard on the concert stage in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Southeast Asia.
