Biography
American mezzo-soprano, Bridget Cappel, is quickly gaining acclaim in the world of opera with her inviting presence, fierce coloratura, and warm, compelling mezzo. She has been praised for her “beauty of tone and honesty of feeling” with “a real mezzo-soprano voice that is very flexible” and “a wicked sense of humor.” Bridget is overjoyed to be making a much-anticipated role debut as Rosina in Shreveport Opera’s Il barbiere di Siviglia this fall. She will join the company as a Shreveport Opera Express Resident Artist for the 2022/2023 season and will also sing the role of Flora in La Traviata in the spring of 2023. Bridget will also perform works from the operatic and musical theater canon in outreach and concert settings throughout the state of Louisiana. Bridget returned to Opera Miss
