Bio: Christoph Stöcker studied church music and conducting, among others. in his native city of Würzburg. During his studies, he already worked as a solo repetitor at the Mecklenburg State Theater in Schwerin. After working as a solo repetitor at the Städtische Bühnen Münster, where he conducted various operas, operettas and musicals, he worked at the Hamburg State Opera from 2002 to 2006. Various guest engagements have also taken him to Rome, Verona, Enschede, the historic Goethe Theater in Bad Lauchstädt, the Festival in Potsdam-Sanssouci, the Herrenhauser Festival and the Kissingen summer. In 2004 he conducted Gerd Kühr's opera "Stallerhof" in the forum of the University of Music and Theater in Hamburg, where he also worked as a lecturer. Since 2006 he has been the musical assistant to Christian Thielemann and Axel Kober at the Bayreuth Festival. Until summer 2012, Stöcker was a lecturer at the University of Music in Cologne. Now he teaches accompaniment at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf. From 2009 to 2014 he was the musical director of the opera studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, since 2014/15 he has been the band leader. As a conductor, he has conducted "Il barbiere di Siviglia" (Rossini), "The Princess on the Pea" (Toch), the premiere "Of the girl who did not want to sleep" (Lange), "Ronja Robber's Daughter" (UA, Arnecke) and "Don Giovanni" (Mozart). 2015/16 follows the premiere of the children's opera "The Snow Queen" (Lange).
