Hagen, GermanySouth Korean-born bass Dong-Won Seo studied singing at Hanyang University and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Prof. Michail Lanskoi before becoming a member of the opera studio at the German National Theater in Weimar in 2007/08. He attended various master classes and won several prizes at singing competitions. From 2008 to 2017 Dong-Won Seo was a permanent member of the ensemble at Musiktheater im Revier, where he performed roles including King (Aida), Osmin (Die Entführung aus dem Seraglio), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), the title role in Arrigo Boito's Mefistofele, Colline (La Bohème), Aquarius (Rusalka), Philip II and Monk (Don Carlo), Sancho Panza (Don Quichotte), Geisterbote (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Commander (Don Giovanni), Crespel and Luther (Tales of Hoffm
