Bio: Eleni Komni is a very promising lyrico-spinto soprano from Greece. She completed her studies in Voice and Opera in Thessaloniki (Macedonian Conservatory and State Conservatory of Thessaloniki) and participated in masterclasses with internationally recognised artists, such as Raina Kabaivanska (Sofia Opera House), Cheryl Studer, Daphne Evangelatos, Anna Tomova- Sintow, etc. She is currently member of the opera studio of the Greek National Opera. In 2016 she won the first prize in the National Music Competition, held by UNESCO and was selected to participate to the final roulds of the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition, in Cape Town, where she ranked as a semi-finalist. She has already performed a variety of roles from the operatic repertoire, during her studies and professionaly, including Fiordiligi/ Cosi fan tutte, Micaela/ Carmen, Mutter/ Hansel und Gretel, Mimi/ La Boheme and Countess/ Le nozze di Figaro. In 2018, as a young artist of the Greek National Opera, she performed the role of Idamante from Mozart's "Idomeneo". In 2017 she performed the roles of Donna Anna at the Woodhouse Opera Festival in UK and of Kathleen from Vaughnan Williams' opera "Riders to the sea". In 2015 she performed the role of Filena from Cavalli's opera ''Gli amori d' Apollo e di Daphne'', in Burgos Municipal Theater in Spain. In 2014 she performed the role of Suor Genovieffa/ Suor Anglica, in Zezere Arts Festival/ Portugal and the roles of Spirit and Noemie (cover) from Massenet's "Cendrillon" in Oslo Opera House, during the LidalNorth International Opera Workshop. Future operatic engagments include the role of Suor Angelica in Puccini's "Suor Angelica" at Greek National Opera, in July 2018. Her concert/ oratorio performed repertoire includes Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater", Cantatas by Bach and Buxtehde, Schubert's Mass no. 2, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Mercadante's" Salve Maria". Eleni Komni is also interested in contemporary music and has collaborated with contemporary Greek composers, such as Kampanis Samaras (title role in his contemporary opera "Aisse", Kostica Collaku and Michael Mirtsios.
