Bio: Born in Imperia, he began to study singing with the tenor Ottavio Garaventa and bass Paolo Montarsolo, then studied with the soprano G. Ostini, the Bass Alfredo Zanazzo and the Tenor Andrea Elena. Among the roles played to date include: Rigoletto (Monterone, Sparafucile), La Traviata (Germont), Aida (Amonasro, Il Re), Otello (Jago), Tosca (Scarpia, Angelotti), Madama Butterfly (Sharpless, Zio Bonzo), Attila (Ezio), Don Carlo (Il Grande Inquisitore), Don Giovanni (Commendatore), Il Tabarro (Michele), La Fanciulla del West (Happy, Aschby), Simon Boccanegra (Paolo). He took part in numerous opera productions in important musical institutions: SNG of Maribor, Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Comunale in Bolzano, the Central Theatre Ariston of Sanremo and the Opera Festival of Trentino Alto Adige, Teatro Alfieri, Teatro Sociale in Biella, Unstable Theatre of Aosta, Stresa Theatres, Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Teatro Sociale of Como, Teatro Ponchielli of Cremona, Teatro Grande Brescia, Teatro dell'Opera Giocosa of Savona, Teatro Sociale di Mantova, Teatro Comunale of Ferrara, Teatro of Pilzen, Teatro San Carlo of Napoli, State's Theatre of Belgrado, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Seoul, Temporada Lirica of Alicante and Murcia, Tournèe in the United States, California, Iowa, Florida, Oklahoma, New York. He then sang Traviata at the Maribor theater directed by Hugo de Ana and Madama Butterfly at Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. In June 2015 he was Amonasro in Aida at the Teatro Plzen; he returns to Opera of Florence with Madama Butterfly (July 2015) and he performed the role of Paolo in Simon Boccanegra in the theaters of Pisa, Lucca and Livorno (October / November 2015). In October 2015 he sang the role of Giorgio Germont in "La Traviata" at the Teatro Goldoni of Livorno and in November he made his debut in the role of Lord Enrico Ashton in Lucia di Lammermoor. In January 2016 he took part in a tour in France, in the role of Iago in Otello (Verdi), with performances in Sète theaters, Cannes and Frejus, directed by M. Taddia directed by Paolo Panizza. In March 2016 he sang Aida at the Teatro of Livorno directed by Franco Zeffirelli and Stefano Trespidi and M° Marco Boemi. In February 2017 he made his debut in Macbeth directed by M°Carannate. In December 2017 he sang the Opera "La Fanciulla del West" at the Teatro San Carlo of Napoli and he took part of the DVD Dynamic directed by M°J. Valčuha and Ugo De Hana. In February 2018 he was Scarpia in "Tosca" at the Teatro of Trento and Teatro Sociale of Mantova. In January and February 2019 he took part of "Turandot" at the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo and Teatro Comunale of Ferrara directed by M°Simon Krečič and Pier Luigi Pizzi with Massimo Gasparon. He plays an intense concert activity, in addition to the operatic repertoire of ancient and contemporary music, sacred music and oratorios, lieder, operettas and musicals, classical and chamber songs. Benissimo ha figurato anche lo Scarpia di Ivan Marino: sontuosa vocalità di baritono lirico-drammatico, cospicua nel volume e controllata nelle dinamiche, ha anche lui offerto, da veterano del ruolo, una prestazione d'alto profilo. Un ruolo cruciale, quello di Scarpia, poichè dalla sua credibilità scenica e dalla capacità di esprimere i tracotanti accenti che Puccini gli affida, dipende la buona riuscita dell'Opera; a lui è anche assegnata, quasi interamente, la cifra erotica prevista dal libretto, il che aumenta ulteriormente il coefficiente di difficoltà in fase di interpretazione. Nonostante le difficoltà imposte da una scrittura musicale che impegna severamente la corda baritonale nei passaggi più impervi, non c'è stata nemmeno l'ombra di un impaccio”.
