Kateřina Kurzweil (Špaňárová)

The Czech mezzo-soprano Kateřina Kurzweil (born Špaňárová) has been on the opera stage since she was a child. She gained her first experience as a member of the children's choir at the Prague National Theater. She has been studying singing since 2015 Music theater at the University of Music "Franz Liszt" in Weimar with Prof. Gudrun Fischer. Master classes with KS Brigitte Fassbaender, Anne Sofie von Otter, Helen and Klaus Donath, Prof. Gerd Uecker and KS Prof. Thomas Thomaschke complement her education. During her studies she appeared on stage as Mrs. Coaxer in Benjamin Britten's "The Beggar's Opera", as Lisetta in Haydn's opera "Il Mondo della Luna" and as the 3rd lady in Mozart's "The Magic Flute".
