Maria Shapiro was born into a family of professional musicians in Kiev and grew up in Germany from the age of two. Already as a child she sang as a soloist in the children's choir of the Bonn Opera and later studied Vocal Performance in Cologne and Tel Aviv with Ingeborg Greiner & Prof. Tamar Rachum. Numerous master classes with Inessa Galante, Prof. Klesie Kelly- Moog & Prof. Thomas Heyer completed her education. The lyrical coloratura soprano has a broad concert and oratorio repertoire. In opera performances she has already shone as Cleopatra in Handel's Guilio Cesare and as Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute.
