Biography
American mezzo-soprano Karis Tucker is a young dramatic singer known for her rich, powerful voice. As a Stipendiatin at Deutsche Oper Berlin in the 2019-2020 season, Karis Tucker was appreciated in the roles of Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Flosshilde in Das Rheingold, as well as Flora Bervoix in La Traviata, Zweite Dame in Die Zauberflöte, Mercédès in Carmen, Barena in Jenufa, Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Myrtale in Thaïs, among others. Some of the highlights of her 2020-2021 season at Deutsche Oper Berlin include Waltraute in Die Walküre and Flosshilde in Das Rheingold of Deutsche Oper Berlin’s new Ring Cycle, along with Adonella in Francesca da Rimini. As a 2018 Gerdine Young Artist, she covered the role of Mother Chen in the Opera Theatre of St. Louis productio
