Yeltsin Presidential Center will be opened in Ekaterinburg on November, 25, 2015 to mark the beginning of a new political tradition in Russia. The primary mission of the Center is to keep the historical heritage of the first Russian President and his epoch. The core of the Center is the museum equipped with the newest multimedia technologies that help to vividly present the documents, archive photos and artefacts of the 90-s.

The Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the institution of the Russian presidency and the development of civil society, democratic institutions and the rule of law. The Yeltsin Center was founded in 2009 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, in accordance with federal law No. 68 of 13 April 2008, «On Centers for the Historical Legacy of Presidents of the Russian Federation Who Have Stopped Exercising Their Powers».

The center also has a branch in Moscow. The mission of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Center is to preserve, study, and present to the public the historical legacy of the first president of the Russian Federation. It regularly organizes exhibits and conferences about Boris Yeltsin's life and work, as well as on Russian and world history at the end of the 20th century. The Center's complex includes a museum, exhibition and conference space and a branch of the Yeltsin Presidential Library.

The Yeltsin Center also supports activities in the following areas: Education, Culture, Youth, Intemational, Humanitarian Cooperation, Publishing, Literary Awards.

First presidential center in Russia

Boris Yeltsin was born in the Urals, and Ekaterinburg, selected as domicile by family of the first Russian president, turned out to be the city which matured the first president of Russia as a political leader.

The mission of Yeltsin Center and Museum is historic preservation, enlightenment, education, and upbringing.

Internationally-renowned dancer and choreographer, Yolande Yorke-Edgell, brings to her repertory company a legacy that combines the roots of American contemporary dance with the first wave of contemporary dance in Britain. Her work with such luminaries as Bella Lewitzky, Richard Alston and Robert Cohan grounds the company in a deep, physical understanding of where great contemporary dance comes from while inspiring YDP to strive forward and discover where dance can take us next.
In 1998, following a successful career performing with major companies including Extemporary Dance Theatre, Rambert Dance Company and Lewitzky Dance Company, Yolande Yorke-Edgell formed Yorke Dance Project, a repertory company, based in Los Angeles. Our first performance was at Occidental College with works by Marc Baldwin, Bella Lewitzky, Courtney Selan and Yorke-Edgell. The company performed annually in Los Angeles for the next 6 years while taking part in numerous dance festivals.

In 2004 Yorke-Edgell moved back to the UK to perform with Richard Alston Dance Company and YDP was re-launched in the UK with Alston as Patron in 2009. YDP has since performed seven seasons of work by acclaimed UK artists such as Sir Robert Cohan, Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Lea Anderson, Wendy Houston as well as works by American artists Bella Lewitzky and John Pennington.

In keeping with Yorke-Edgell’s personal trajectory of training and dancing in both the UK and the US, the company is focused on nurturing connections with the US by creating and presenting work in both of these countries. YDP offers inspiring growth opportunities for choreographers, dancers, students and audiences in every location to which our work takes us.

Yorke Dance Project

Founded in 1979 by its Conductor, Peter Seymour, Yorkshire Bach Choir has been regarded for over 30 years as one of the UK’s leading chamber choirs, specialising in performing renaissance, baroque and classical music. The mainstay of the choir’s performance is its annual series of six concerts. In addition the choir regularly performs elsewhere in the UK and abroad participating in a variety of festivals, and has featured on both radio and television. The choir has made recordings of works ranging in period from the Spanish Renaissance of Victoria right through to the classical period, represented by Mozart’s Requiem. These and its other recordings are an enduring benchmark of its achievement.
