The selection of samples reflects the repertoire of the NDM opera troupe in the first season of 1919/1920, when it was led by Emanuel Bastl , who also participated in most of the productions as a conductor. Musical numbers from the works of Czech authors will be heard from Smetana's  Hubička , Dvořák's  Rusalka  and  The Devil and the Devil , from Kovařovic's opera  Na starém bélidle  and from Janáček's  Její pastorkyně . NDM began its existence on August 12, 1919 with the  Bartered Bride – it is worth remembering that the very first Jeník from Ostrava was an important figure in the history of the First Republic of NDM, singer, director and translator of librettos Karel Kügler. In addition to the named operas, the following works from Czech works were performed in the first season of the NDM: Bendlův  Starý ženich , Fibich's  Šárka  and the opera  Equinox  by the Brno conductor and composer František Neumann.
 
Italian opera was represented by three titles in the opening season – in addition to Bohemia, our gala concert will also  feature  Tosca  and  Aida  , which appeared in the repertoire from the 1920/1921 season. In the opening season, we will continue with examples from Weber's  The Sorcerer  and Wagner's  The Lost Dutchman , which will be suitably complemented by  Camillo Saint-Saëns' Samson and Delilah  .

Výběr ukázek odráží repertoár operního souboru NDM v první sezóně 1919/1920, kdy stál v jeho čele Emanuel Bastl, který se také na většině inscenací podílel jako dirigent. Z tvorby českých autorů zazní hudební čísla ze Smetanovy Hubičky, Dvořákovy Rusalky a Čerta a Káči, z Kovařovicovy opery Na starém bělidle a od Janáčka pak z Její pastorkyně. NDM zahájilo svou existenci 12. srpna 1919 Prodanou nevěstou – stojí za připomenutí, že vůbec prvním ostravským Jeníkem byla významná postava prvorepublikové historie NDM, pěvec, režisér i překladatel libret Karel Kügler. Kromě jmenovaných oper byla z české tvorby v první sezóně NDM uvedena ještě tato díla: Bendlův Starý ženich, Fibichova Šárka a opera Ekvinokce od brněnského dirigenta a skladatele Františka Neumanna.
 
Italská opera byla v zahajovací sezóně zastoupena třemi tituly – v našem galakoncertu zazní kromě Bohémy také Tosca a Aida, které se objevily na repertoáru od sezóny 1920/1921. V úvodní sezóně zůstaneme ukázkami z Weberova Čarostřelce a Wagnerova Bludného Holanďana, jež vhodně doplní Samson a Dalila Camilla Saint-Saënse.
