Ансамбъл Musica Nova обединява млади композитори, инструменталисти и диригенти. В него участват някои от най-даровитите и интелигентни музиканти от младото и средно поколение. Първоначално наречен Академичен колегиум за нова музика, ансамбълът участва в ежегодния преглед Нова българска музика с първи изпълнения на творби от Л. Николов, Г. Тутев, Б. Спасов и др. През 1990, след основаването на българската секция на Международното дружество за нова музика (ISCM), ансамбълът (вече като Musica Nova) поема основната част от концертните прояви на Дружеството – ежемесечни концерти, а след 1993 и част от концертите на новооснования фестивал за съвременна музика в София. 

Ансамбълът концертира на почти всички престижни подиуми в страната – Мартенски музикални дни в Русе, Варненско лято, Софийски музикални седмици, Новогодишния фестивал в София, Фестивал на изкуствата Аполония в Созопол, Зимни музикални вечери Иван Спасов в Пазарджик, American Music Week и др.

Международните изяви на ансамбъла са свързани и с фестивалите Wien Modern, Melos-Ethos (Словакия), Musica сontemporanea (Италия), Меридиан (Румъния), YOUrope together (Германия). През 2018 ансамбълът участва в международния фестивал Бриджис с премиерен концерт във Виенската зала Konzerthaus.

Музикантите работят с такива реномирани фигури като А. Виеру, Ф. Голдман, Д. Шнебел, К. Ашер, С. Гаврилов, Р. Еверс, С. Пиронков, В. Казанджиев, Й. Дафов, В. Николов, П. Балев, П. Джуров, Х. Бледсоу и др.

Ансамбълът редовно сътрудничи с БНР, където реализира студийни записи на новонаписани композиции. Постоянен диригент и ръководител на ансамбъла е видният български диригент и композитор Драгомир Йосифов.

Ensemble Musica Nova unites young composers, instrumentalists and conductors. It features some of the most gifted and intelligent musicians of the young and middle generation. Originally called the Academic Collegium for New Music, the ensemble participated in the annual review New Bulgarian Music with first performances of works by L. Nikolov, G. Tutev, B. Spasov and others. In 1990, after the foundation of the Bulgarian section of the International Society for New Music (ISCM), the ensemble (now as Musica Nova) took over the main part of the Society's concert events - monthly concerts, and after 1993 also part of the concerts of the newly founded contemporary music festival in Sofia. 

The ensemble performs on almost all the prestigious podiums in the country – March Music Days in Ruse, Varna Summer, Sofia Music Weeks, the New Year Festival in Sofia, Apolonia Arts Festival in Sozopol, Ivan Spasov Winter Music Evenings in Pazardzhik, American Music Week, etc.

The international performances of the ensemble are also connected with the festivals Wien Modern, Melos-Ethos (Slovakia), Musica сontemporanea (Italy), Meridian (Romania), YOUrope together (Germany). In 2018, the ensemble participated in the Bridges International Festival with a premiere concert in the Vienna Konzerthaus.

The musicians work with such renowned figures as A. Vieru, F. Goldman, D. Schnebel, K. Asher, S. Gavrilov, R. Evers, S. Pironkov, V. Kazandzhiev, Y. Dafov, V. Nikolov, P. Balev , P. Jurov, H. Bledsoe and others.

The ensemble regularly cooperates with BNR, where it realizes studio recordings of newly written compositions. Permanent conductor and leader of the ensemble is the prominent Bulgarian conductor and composer Dragomir Yosifov.
