The Firebird is an old Russian fairy tale to which Igor Stravinsky wrote fantastically beautiful, exciting music for large orchestra in 1919. It will be played for you by the Staatskapelle Halle. But before moderator Andreas Peer Kähler turns into the fairy tale uncle, who tells you the fairy tale, he introduces you to the whole wonderful orchestra in a spirited and humorous way - based on his composition »Presenting the Orchestra«. Then - with lively participation from the audience - the characters of the
fairy tale are introduced using characteristic excerpts from the firebird music, before finally the entire fairy tale is performed with music.

Der Feuervogel ist ein altes russisches Märchen, zu dem Igor Strawinsky 1919 fantastisch schöne, aufregende Musik für großes Orchester geschrieben hat. Sie wird für Euch von der Staatskapelle Halle gespielt. Aber bevor sich Moderator Andreas Peer Kähler in den Märchenonkel verwandelt, der Euch dazu das Märchen erzählt, stellt er Euch zu Beginn temperament- und humorvoll das ganze wunderbare Orchester vor – und zwar anhand seiner Komposition »Presenting the Orchestra«. Danach werden – unter lebhafter Beteiligung des Publikums – die Charaktere des
Märchens anhand von charakteristischen Ausschnitten aus der Feuervogel-Musik vorgestellt, bevor abschließend das gesamte Märchen mit Musik aufgeführt wird.
