Requiem aeternam dona eis. Domine”: con queste parole (“L’eterno riposo dona loro, o Signore”), si apre il “Requiem in re minore per soli, coro ed orchestra K626” di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, uno dei più grandi capolavori del musicista salisburghese: lo si potrà seguire in diretta dal Teatro Goldoni di Livorno sabato 10 aprile, alle ore 18.30 su Granducato TV (canale 14 e 611 in HD) e sul canale YouTube del Goldoni in occasione del 30° anniversario della tragedia del Moby Prince.
Una ricorrenza importante che Comune di Livorno in collaborazione con la Fondazione Teatro Goldoni, nel perdurare dell’emergenza covid e la conseguente impossibilità di manifestazioni aperte al pubblico, intende onorare coinvolgendo la città attraverso il linguaggio universale della musica. In apertura, il Sindaco di Livorno Luca Salvetti consegnerà la Livornina d’oro all’Associazione “140 Familiari delle Vittime del Moby Prince”, che unisce i familiari delle vittime della tragedia del 10 aprile del 1991.
Organizzato con l’Associazione “140 Familiari delle Vittime del Moby Prince” e con il supporto di LIONS Club Livorno HOST, il “Requiem” di Mozart vedrà sotto la direzione del M° Giovanni Di Stefano, il debutto dell’Orchestra del Teatro Goldoni di Livorno; le parti soliste saranno eseguite dal soprano Francesca Maionchi, il  mezzosoprano Cecilia Bernini, il tenore Gianni Mongiardino ed il  basso Paolo Pecchioli; Schola Cantorum Labronica, Maestro del coro Maurizio Preziosi.
Opera amatissima e tra le più eseguite del repertorio mozartiano, il “Requiem K626” rimase incompiuto e la tradizione vuole che il 5 dicembre 1791 il suo autore fosse ancora intento sul letto di morte a dettarne le parti. Oggi sappiamo che la sua creazione, iniziata solo pochi mesi prima, non era avvolta in tutto quel mistero di cui soprattutto in epoca romantica si era ammantata (il committente misterioso vestito di nero messaggero dell’imminente fine del compositore) e che sono ben identificati sia chi gli dette l’incarico di questa Messa funebre (il conte Franz Walsegg zu Stuppach, un musicista dilettante a suffragio della  moglie scomparsa), sia chi ne portò a compimento la composizione su incarico della stessa moglie di Mozart Costanze (l’allievo di Mozart Francesco Saverio Süssmayer). Mozart stese la partitura completa della parte iniziale (Requiem e Kyrie), le parti vocali e il basso delle sette parti successive con le parti strumentali indicate sommariamente, mentre delle ultime tre parti non esiste nemmeno l’abbozzo autografo, né si sa se Mozart arrivò ad idearle e passarne degli appunti al suo allievo. Resta il fatto che il “Requiem K626” è una partitura grandiosa che conquista fin dal primo ascolto per intensità, colore e forza. Un bel banco di prova per la nuova compagine orchestrale che sarà composta da 28 elementi, 16 dei quali provenienti da Livorno ed ulteriori 4 dalla Toscana, con 52 coristi, tutti opportunamente disposti in ottemperanza delle disposizioni ministeriali in materia di sicurezza: “Il Teatro Goldoni è #141 – afferma il Direttore amministrativo del Goldoni Mario Menicagli – e con il Direttore artistico Emanuele Gamba siamo onorati che dal Teatro della città si levi un così alto messaggio di vicinanza e solidarietà che riguarda tutti ed un abbraccio a chi fu così duramente colpito negli affetti e sentimenti”.
