Im letzten Sinfoniekonzert liegen Musikalische Leitung und pianistischer Solopart in einer Hand: Stefan Vladar ist gefragter Dirigent, gefeierter Pianist — und Wiener, was sich auch in der Programmierung für das Oldenburgische Staatsorchester niederschlägt. Hier zeigt sich Beethoven von zwei Seiten: als Dramatiker in einer Ouvertüre, die die tragischen Höhen und Tiefen des römischen Feldherrn Coriolanus musikalisch komprimiert, und als Sinfoniker, der mit seinem faszinierend neuartigen Zugriff auf die Gattung nachfolgenden Generationen von Komponist:innen das Leben schwer machte.

Als „sinfonisch“ gilt — nicht zuletzt durch Größe und Behandlung des Orchesterparts — auch Mozarts Klavierkonzert Nr. 24, das 1786 zeitgleich mit ‚Figaros Hochzeit‘ entstand. Als eines von nur zwei Klavierkonzerten, die der Komponist in einer Molltonart schrieb (und ungewöhnlich oft überarbeitete) ist es von besonders dramatischem Ausdruck und tiefer Melancholie.

In the last symphony concert, musical direction and pianistic solo part are in one hand: Stefan Vladar is a sought-after conductor, celebrated pianist — and Viennese, which is also reflected in the programming for the Oldenburg State Orchestra. Here Beethoven shows himself from two sides: as a dramatist in an overture that musically compresses the tragic highs and lows of the Roman general Coriolanus, and as a symphonist who made life difficult for subsequent generations of composers with his fascinatingly new approach to the genre .

Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24, which was composed in 1786 at the same time as 'The Marriage of Figaro', is also regarded as 'symphonic', not least because of the size and treatment of the orchestral part. One of only two piano concertos that the composer wrote (and revised unusually frequently) in a minor key, it is particularly dramatic in expression and profoundly melancholy.
