De la música para cine a los entresijos del lieder, Korngold y Mahler saborean en este programa la autorreferencia en una exploración hacia la intertextualidad de sus propias obras. Korngold, uno de los compositores más prestigiosos de la historia de Hollywood, bebió de las bandas sonoras que le encumbraron hasta los Óscar, como Anthony Adverse (1936) o El príncipe y el mendigo (1937) en su Concierto para violín y orquesta. Para adentrarse en aquellos días de juventud, flores, frutos y espinas, Mahler combinó una recreación de los lieder que coronaron su ilimitada Sinfonía «Titán».

From film music to the intricacies of lieder, Korngold and Mahler savor self-reference in this program in an exploration of the intertextuality of their own works. Korngold, one of the most prestigious composers in the history of Hollywood, drank from the soundtracks that elevated him to the Oscars, such as Anthony Adverse (1936) or The Prince and the Pauper (1937) in his Concert for violin and orchestra. To delve into those days of youth, flowers, fruits and thorns, Mahler combined a recreation of the lieder that crowned his limitless "Titan" Symphony.
