The musical "Alice and Wonderland" by Gleb Matveychuk is a new long-awaited performance for family viewing at the Musical Comedy Theatre. But! The theater immediately warns all fans of Lewis Carroll's work: do not wait for a retelling of the famous plot. Everything in this fairy tale (and maybe not a fairy tale) is  not at all what it seems .

The popular Russian actor, musician and producer Gleb Matveychuk wrote his musical Dream Labyrinths based on the fairytale story of the English writer in 2018, and in 2021 he himself staged it in one of the Moscow theaters. In this story, familiar characters - Alice, the Hatter, the Rabbit and the Red Queen made a time jump from the 19th century to the 21st , leaving almost all of their absurdist background to literary scholars.

As in the well-known adaptations of "Alice" of recent years, the plot twists and turns of the fairy tale are just the starting point for free fantasy on the topic of self-knowledge and acceptance of the world around. Only their names remained for the heroes, magic was replaced by the wonders of science and technology of the rapid millennium. But in bright characters , in which young viewers can easily determine which of the heroes is “good-bad-evil”, and adults guess allusions to contemporaries , both Carroll's irony and his taste for parody        are preserved .

Using the full range of modern production tools, the Musical Comedy Theater hopes to replenish the repertoire with a performance for family viewing , which will become a point of attraction for a wide variety of viewers. 

And the brilliant line-up of performers , among which are the stars of the musical of St. Petersburg and Moscow, will delight many fans of the genre. In addition, continuing the tradition of discovering acting talents in each new project , the theater presented  on its stage young artists who passed the casting.

On the production at the Musical Comedy Theater, director Olga Subbotina , a sought-after practitioner, on whose account there are more than two dozen productions of modern drama in Moscow theaters and many successful projects in the cinema, worked together with the creator of the musical Gleb Matveychuk .

Мюзикл «Алиса и Страна чудес» Глеба Матвейчука – новый долгожданный спектакль для семейного просмотра в Театре музыкальной комедии. Но! Всех поклонников творчества Льюиса Кэрролла театр сразу предупреждает: не стоит ждать пересказа известного сюжета. Все в этой сказке (а может, и не сказке) –  совсем не то, чем кажется.

Популярный российский актер, музыкант и продюсер Глеб Матвейчук написал свой мюзикл «Лабиринты сна» по мотивам сказочной повести английского писателя в 2018 году, а в 2021 году сам же его и поставил в одном из московских театров. В этой истории знакомые персонажи – Алиса, Шляпник, Кролик и Красная Королева совершили скачок во времени из XIX века в XXI-й, оставив почти весь свой абсурдистский бэкграунд литературоведам.

Как и в известных экранизациях «Алисы» последних лет, сюжетные перипетии сказки – лишь отправная точка для вольной фантазии на тему самопознания и принятия окружающего мира. Героям остались лишь их имена, волшебство заменили чудеса науки и техники стремительного тысячелетия. Но в ярких характерах, в которых юные зрители без труда определяют кто из героев «хороший-плохой-злой», а взрослые угадывают аллюзии на современников, сохранены и ирония Кэрролла, и его вкус к пародии.       

Используя весь спектр современных постановочных средств, Театр музыкальной комедии надеется пополнить репертуар спектаклем для семейного просмотра, который станет точкой притяжения для самых разных зрителей. 

А блестящий состав исполнителей, среди которых – звезды мюзикла Санкт-Петербурга и Москвы, порадует многочисленных поклонников жанра. Кроме того, продолжая традицию открывать в каждом новом проекте актерские таланты, театр представил на своей сцене и молодых артистов, прошедших кастинг.

Над постановкой в Театре музыкальной комедии режиссер Ольга Субботина – востребованный практик, на счету которой – более двух десятков постановок по современной драматургии в московских театрах и немало успешных проектов в кино, работала вместе с создателем мюзикла Глебом Матвейчуком.
