Old acquaintances in a new guise - this applies both to the ensemble, which regularly performs in Schwetzingen and is led by Wolfgang Katschner, and who shows up in this concert from a previously unknown side, as well as to the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who is the main focus. His music will be heard on this evening in a format that transcends genre boundaries in a mixture of historical and modern sounds, original, alienated and edited. Contemporary and old instruments work together and create new worlds of sound between old music, lounge and jazz.
The motto "Resurrection" stands for many possible aspects that the music of the famous Thomaskantor can fulfill, for example as a source of comfort or as an opening of emotional and intellectual spaces. For this extraordinary project, the soprano Hanna Herfurtner, known for her versatility, accompanies the lautten compagney BERLIN.

Alte Bekannte in neuem Gewand – dies gilt sowohl für das regelmäßig in Schwetzingen konzertierende Ensemble mit Leiter Wolfgang Katschner, das sich in diesem Konzert von bisher unbekannter Seite zeigt, wie auch für den im Zentrum stehenden Komponisten Johann Sebastian Bach. Seine Musik erklingt an diesem Abend als Genregrenzen überwindendes Format in einer Mischung aus historischen und modernen Klängen original, verfremdet und bearbeitet. Zeitgenössische und alte Instrumente wirken zusammen und erschaffen neue Klangwelten zwischen Alter Musik, Lounge und Jazz.
Das Motto »Auferstehung« steht hier für viele mögliche Aspekte, die die Musik des berühmten Thomaskantors erfüllen kann, so als Trostspender oder als Öffnung emotionaler und gedanklicher Räume. Für dieses außergewöhnliche Projekt begleitet die für ihre Vielseitigkeit bekannte Sopranistin Hanna Herfurtner die lautten compagney BERLIN.
