For the Paris competition La Maestra, Glass Marcano had to save up the travel money from her mouth – as a vegetable seller in her native Venezuela. When she finally stood on the podium in Paris, audience and orchestra experienced a volcanic eruption of passion. With this young conductor, Beethoven's venerable first becomes an explosion again.
